A letter from Bandit's Original Rescuer

Hi Susan,
I was so relieved to hear from you.
I have been so worried for Bandit and all of the rescue team in the past couple of weeks.

Bandit is such a loving, affectionate dog, I know he'll make someone a wonderful pet. I sure do miss him! I so wanted to keep him, but I knew I didn't have the space or the compassion to keep him. I do know he was happy here.

But I also knew that my yorkie didn't want him here and he probably never really felt at home here. I certainly hope he'll finda great home somewhere. I do know he desevres it. He is really a sweety.

He never seemed to mind any of his hardships. Isn't that such a shame? These poor animals don't ever ask for anything and are so thankful for everything! I'd love to find the owner and shoot them!!!!!!
I am going to donate to your cause. It won't be much,but I guess anything will help. I just want you and everyone who helped this wonderful dog to know how much I and many others who maybe can't afford to helpout, how much they are all appreciated. You are all in my prayers and you all deserve wonderful things.

Notes from Bandit's Week long Foster Mom!

Bandit,.. The Lucky Boy!!
HI All -- Its Sunday night around 9:15 pm. Just wanted to let you know that all is well. Bandit is such a sweet little boy.
A great rider and a great guest. I brought my little Pekingese, Anniken, with me on the ride to Wheeling.
He and Bandit got along great. I even had faith that nothing would happen when I left them alone in the car to get something to eat.
When I got back to the car Anniken was in the front seat ready to drive and Bandit was in the back taking in the sights.
As for the weather, I got a mixture of snow (where I picked up Bandit and also coming thru little Washington) to sunny skies. I even had to put on my sunglasses at one point.
When I got home there was a light dusting of snow on my driveway. So you never know road conditions and this crazy weather we are having.
When I got home and introduced my other guys to him, no one barked, no one growled. My German Shepherd female just sniffed him making sure he was almost all boy, and then walked away.
She usually barks for 10 minutes at a strange dog before accepting them. But Bandit was totally accepted immediately by all.
Then everyone settled down for the evening... and they are now watching the Olympics in my bedroom. Bandit is just listening and trying to get some sleep.
Looks like the car ride wore him out.
Bandit is such a sweet little boy and whoever becomes his guardian is going to get a very special pup.
I'll be getting in contact with Cathie by seperate email to check on weather conditions for tomorrow or Tuesday transport. But Bandit is welcome to stay for as long as it takes the roads to clear -- and that invitation comes not only from me, but from my other furbabies.-- Liane

Headed Out Sunday Morning,.....

Heading out on Sunday Morning,......Into a possible snow storm,
Thanks to the Experienced Team of Drivers we have , "Plan B" has been put into motion,....I told these Ladies that this part of the transport was now in their hands as far as making "exec." decisions was concerned.

We have several contacts in that area where Bandit , could wait out the storm, and continue next Sat. This didn't seem to be an option, Bandit was headed home with whoever happened to be his chauffeur when the decision was made to stop the transport due to weather

Emails From Bandit's Drivers

I'm north of I-70 about 45 minutes -- we are getting some snow but so far its not sticking. However, if things get bad by morning and if Bandit and I can make it to Wheeling and no further, I can take care of him for the week.-- Liane


Wink/Wendy - That sounds good to me. You never know what it will be like here and going out to New Stanton could be a problem. If need be Liane can keep him and we can work things out from there. I'll send you a message before I leave and let you know what my weather is like.

Notes From Bandit's Overnight In Indianapolis

Bandit made it to his overnight in Indianapolis,..

We made it safely to Indy with Bandit tonight. Lol, he has his head between my hands while I'm typing.
He's a really sweet boy.
He hears the kitties and wonders where they are - buy they've been safely tucked away since before we left.
We took him out for a walk around the neighborhood and he did really well. We put a new collar on him because he seemed to be straining against the choke collar. The choke collar is still on (as it has paperwork attached), we just aren't attaching the lead to it.I attempted to brush him out a bit for the little while that he sat still :-) He is such a handsome boy, especially his face!

Now all I have to do is convince him that sitting on desks and investigating counters is not in his best interest :-)The weather is fine now, although we hit some snow squalls on the way out to Terre Haute. WeatherBug says it should be good in the morning, so I plan on heading out unless told otherwise.There is a crate all set up in the bedroom should he choose to sleep in there with a blanket - if not, there's room on the bed :-)

Bandit Begins his Journey

Hello everyone,
Thank -you for taking the time to stop by and see Bandit. He unfortunately has found himself homeless, and dumped along a country road,
Luckily, near a home that cares enough about him to help him find a good home.
Sometimes it takes many people and many miles to do so, but being in the right place at the right time sure does make things easier.

That is why Bandit will be going to The Eastern Shore Animal Rescue League, in Chesapeake City, MD., under the care of Jeanne Deeming, who will provide the best veterinary care, a warm and comfortable place for Bandit to sleep, with exercise, and good food to eat!

Many Miles down the road ,Bandt has arrived in Kansas City, to spend the Night with Adria, before the big journey begins!
